Iran, Korea say yes to Tehran-Seoul direct flights
Head of Iran-Korea Parliamentary Friendship Group Assadollah Abbasi recounted on outcomes of the meeting held by the group on the sidelines of the 2nd annual Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries' Parliaments saying "the two sides reached good agreements on establishing direct flight routes between the two countries"
Abbasi said Koreans have approved of performing direct flights between Tehran and Seoul; "officials of Iran Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and Iran Air, branded as the Airline of the Islamic Republic of Iran, will hold joint sessions with their Korean counterparts," he noted.
The meeting between speakers of Iranian and Korean parliaments was also attended by Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranian Affairs Hassan Ghashghavi.
The official said, apart from Iran Air, private sector airlines will be also able to make investments in establishment of Iran-Korea direct flights.
Assadollah Abbasi touched upon yet a different issue raised at the session of Iran-Korea Parliamentary Friendship Group saying "Ali Larijnai reminded the freezing of Iran's oil assets by South Korea due to banking sanctions and the Korean side agreed to settle the debts in euros"
